COWBOY POETRY
God is even in the details of the cowboy. The skills of the rope must be honed to carry on the necessary responsibilities of the ranch day. Many times these skills are put on exhibit in Rodeo events.
Many riders dream of being a cowboy, and every cowboy needs to be able to rope a cow. Some riders grow up on ranches and learn to swing a loop from friends or relatives, but other wannabe cowboys aren’t so fortunate. So, how does the average rider with cowboy dreams learn that essential roping skill? And why rope a cow, anyway?

Roping Dreams Beneath Starlit Skies
In twilight’s grip, when day turns to night,
The cowboy’s heart seeks the silver light.
With lasso ready, he stands so tall,
For in the vastness, he hears the call.
Stars like diamonds in the velvet dark,
Whisper to him of dreams that spark.
With every toss of the lasso wide,
He robs the heavens, with passion and Pride.
The prairie’s breath, a whispering breeze,
Carries the tales of the rolling seas.
Of mighty stallions, wild and free,
He rides the night, his soul’s decree.
Each flick of his wrist, each graceful spin,
Catches the essence of what lies within.
A dreamer’s heart, where courage reigns,
In the tapestry of life, he knows no chains.
Beneath the dome where the Milky Way swirls,
He dances with shadows, as time unfurls.
For each twinkle’s bounce is a tale to tell,
Of love, of loss, in the night’s soft swell.
With every roped dream, he claims with grace,
Moments of wonder in the nighttime’s embrace.
Forego the dawn, for here he shall stay,
A cowboy of dreams till the break of day.
So raise a glass to the sky up above,
To the moon’s gentle glow, to the stars he loves.
In the richness of night, let the wild winds steer,
For the cowboy’s roping of dreams is here.
