What does it really look like when we get it right? Can we recognize truth from falsehoods? Are the teachers in the teaching roles authentic or knockoffs?
To understand and recognize truth from false teaching is the responsibility of the Christian. Michael D Fry in his book Are We Getting It Right; A Journey to Discernment presents an appetizer-type-investigation into what is being taught, the essentials to determining what is real truth, and the basis for recognition of false teaching. When we hear someone proclaiming God’s Word, we are instructed to search the Scriptures to see if what we hear bears truthfulness.
Knowing and understanding that the God of all Creation is Serious about what He expects from those who teach and those who learn. The purpose of learning from all we are taught is to inevitably worship God in Truth and grow in the intimate relationship He desires. Begin your Journey to Discernment today!
WORKS IN PROGRESS - WATCH FOR UPDATES
Many times, when out in the pasture, driving down the highway, or just a time of reflection, my mind starts generating thoughts reminiscent of stories, book ideas, and sometimes Sunday morning preaching. Over the years I have sat down and put these thoughts to words in document form. This writing is a compilation of those sermons I humbly share with you, my readers. Coming soon as #2 in the Are We Getting It Right Series.
A shadow looms over us heavier than the Texas humidity in August. The children growing up, expenses pile up as their needs grow and as the years fly by. The paycheck no longer equates the outgo as inflation eats it up faster than raises awarded. Your honeymoon days of old are hampered as stress takes you captive. What to do. 1 Peter 1:3 tells us we are born again to a Living Hope. Experience hope God’s way through the Bible. This offering is #3 in the Are We Getting It Right Series
Authors need a change of pace in their writing from time to time. You know, just to change things up a bit. Switching from a constant diet of non-fiction makes a trip in fiction welcome. Writing folders are a good place to park some meandering dabbling’s. The book titled the 139th LAP was one of these side roads in my writing career. This writing began some 25 years ago and needs dusted off and the final pages added. Look for this publishing soon.
Featuring the Music of J'Lee
It is only by the grace of God that I’m able to write a song.
As a child I could not figure out how people could write song after song. It was far beyond my comprehension that someone could keep coming up with a new song. For me to write more than two or three songs I know it’s Father God that enables me. For this I give him the honor praise and glory.
why Country Soul?
For years when people would hear my music for the first time, they would comment, “’You sing Country but with lots of Soul and passion.’” After constantly hearing this, I labeled my musical style Country Soul.” – J’Lee
